I'm FEATURED on Cake Wrecks!

Is this a good thing? Why, yes. My wedding cake was hideous and we all know it, and Cake Wrecks is bloggy awesomeness that often makes me cry with laughter. Just not usually at my own expense.

Still, if I can bring a little joy into your humdrum lives, it means my cake wreck aint been in vain for nothin'.

Go see it here.

  1. congrats on being such a good sport about your very own cake wreck. I love that site so much, and if it wasn't for good sports like yourself, it wouldn't happen!

  4. Hey Ruby,

This is john from Cake Wrecks and I just wanted to say thanks for being so cool. Jen always worries that her posts are gonna offend so I'll be sure to point out your comment as soon as she wakes up.

    Thanks again and Wreck On!

  5. Thanks to Cake Wrecks, I have spent most of the morning reading all of your wedding posts. Bravo! What a beautiful wedding!!!

In September, I will be married 34 years to a wonderful man. I love him each and every day, as he does lucky me, but sometimes I fall into a spell of intensity not unlike when we first met, when we first kissed, when he proposed and our wedding day.

I wish you decades of happiness and many bouts of intensity.

  6. Hi John, I think I would only have been offended if I had actually LIKED my cake! Mwahaha. I just told my hubby we were featured (he also reads your blog) and he said "Well, it was a disaster."

I'm more likely to be offended by some comments (I really LIKE that lime green dress, hehee) but we can't do anything about that.

  12. Another person following the Cake Wrecks linkage, and WOW. I am in love with your decor for the wedding. That black and white damask is just totally up my alley.
My (up till now) design ideas were pretty much most everything being shades of a certain ruby/light burgundy red, darker red flowers, the occasional ivory accent, some dark brown accent...but now? Pffft changin my mind!! Just really seriously love that black and white with the red. Everything look SO beautiful (except for the cake, which I can see why you chose the original design it's awesome) and I love that stone chapel!

Congrats on your big day, and I'm glad you didn't let the ugly cake ruin it :)

  13. Hello! I also got here from CakeWrecks, and I love your blog! I envy how brave you must be to take that leap and start your own photography business. I haven't yet found whatever career would make me happy, but you have given me more inspiration to start exploring. Best of luck, and I will be coming back to look at more of your awesome photos! :)

  19. Another lurker from Cake Wrecks! I just love the expression on your face in the photo from CW. However, I love the expressions from your wedding even more! I laughed at your Dad's exuberance upon "giving you away." On my wedding day (age 34), my Dad gave my hand to my husband and gleefully said, "She's all yours now!" Dads! Gotta love 'em!

  20. I love your green dress, too. You are a shining star in the blog firmament. Says so, right here.

I have also been reading all your blogs listings. BEE-YOU-tiful wedding and I loved the programs and table signs (yes, I know what they are, now!)

  26. I am jealous! You're on CW, the whole world was talking about you and you've gained a million lovely followers, ha ha. Just read all the comments on CW, some people just amaze me with their ignorant, opinionated attitudes? You come off as totally sweet and reasonable though, as you are so good for you! (PS. I also never thought your cake was Wrecky enough?)

  27. Yeah, all those comments...it was nuts the way people were saying it was all my fault I got a wreck, so I should just suck it up and keep quiet...um, I thought I WAS, actually - I didn't ask to be featured, my blog stated I was over it in five minutes, and I never caused a fuss anywhere. So why come and say, "oh, it's all your fault"? Whatever, people. I was over it seven months ago, minus those 5 minutes!
