Secret Photos of Bees...

Well, maybe not so secret. I'm sure he knew I was there. Assuming bees can "know" anything.

I was taking photos of this lavender bush for my depth of field assignment, and I had to stop and get a few (tons) of photos of this bee. I don't like things that can sting me, but I have to admit he's rather beautiful.

I'm loving my camera! Look at the fluffiness on his back and the patterns on his wings! Gorgeous.

  1. Lovely pictures. I almost want to go up and pet the little fuzzy bee.

  3. Blablover: You'd wish you hadn't...by the way, what do your bees look like in the US & Canada? They're always harping on about "African bees" but I'm not sure what any other kind looks like!

Jess: Thank you so much! I know the first one's a smidge blurry, but I like it anyway...

I realise this is nit-picky, but all worker bees are female. :) The male drones surround the queen and feed/care for her. The bee in your pictures is a girl.

  5. Haha, Raisin'Cookies, you are so right! I sort of knew that, once upon a time! But I definitely didn't remember it here. :-)
